PHP strtolower, strtoupper in cyrillic
If you need to work with Cyrillic text in PHP, you may notice that functions that are related to case sensitivity are not working as expected. What do i mean - strtolower, strtouper, ucwords, and so on.
So if you want to get the expected result you need to use mb_convert functions.
Here is the example:
$string = "Хелоу";
$string = mb_convert_case($string, MB_CASE_LOWER, "UTF-8");
echo $string; //output is: хелоу
?>
