Silverlight WPF: Use Static Resources in XAML and Code Behind
1. Define some resource for example a background Brush
<SolidColorBrush x:Name="SCB_BackWhite">
<Color>#CCFFFFFF</Color>
</SolidColorBrush>
2. Bind the background Property of the target control to the style deffinition
<Grid x:Name="mainGrid" Background="{StaticResource SCB_BackWhite}"></grid>
3. The same effect in code behind
mainGrid.Background = Application.Current.Resources["SCB_BackWhite"] as SolidColorBrush ;
<SolidColorBrush x:Name="SCB_BackWhite">
